El mundo no va a cambiar,

tal vez, con estas palabras,

ni con este poema,

pero sería una falta

imperdonable que no lo escribiera,

buscara la despreciable excusa,

inexcusable de la indiferencia

y no alzara la voz

más allá del silencio cómplice.

The world is not going to change,

perhaps, with these words,

nor with this poem,

but it would be an

unforgivable failure not to write it,

to seek the despicable excuse,

inexcusable of indifference

and not raise my voice

beyond the complicit silence.
