Un ghostwriter debe comenzar

por olvidarse de sí mismo,

hacerse cómplice de quien representa

en el anonimato del texto.

No olvidar, eso sí, el valor

intrínseco de las palabras,

que es cuanto le compete,

en  espíritu, cuerpo y alma,

dejar acaso la huella 

de un desconocido,

sin nombre,

en el tintero del olvido.

A ghostwriter must begin

by forgetting themselves,

becoming an accomplice to the one they embody

in the anonymity of the text.

Not forgetting, of course, the intrinsic value

of words —

for that is their true domain —

in spirit, body, and soul,

to perhaps leave the trace

of an unknown,

nameless one,

in the inkwell of oblivion.
