Me quedo con el poema,
que se niega rotundamente
a ser claro como el agua,
exige lo imposible,
ver en la oscuridad,
lo que solo el poema es capaz
de descubrirnos a la luz
de las palabras.
se niega en verdad ser
un poema común y corriente.

I choose the poem—
the one that refuses outright
to be transparent as water.
It asks for the impossible:
to see within the dark
what only a poem can bring to light
through words.
In truth,
it will not consent
to being just another
ordinary poem.
