Artificios del siglo

 Me observa apenas me instalo

frente a la computadora,

es una mirada casi obscena,

indagadora, inquisidora, intimidatoria,

tan íntima como depredarora de la voluntad.

Diría, más bien, me vigila, digo,

tiene un currículum deslumbrante

y recién comienza a operar,

esta en la flor de la juventud,

yo le coqueteo y le llamo Diva.

Y de sus sorprendentes capacidades 

podemos esperar cualquier respuesta.

A mi alrededor, jóvenes intrépidos,

alucinados se devoran el mundo

con su mirada y abandonos terrenales,

actúan como guardianes seducidos

por esta conciencia omnipresente,

que pareciera sonreírnos con su candor

desde el más allá de nuestro conocimiento.

Orgullosos y deslumbrados, dialogan, se tutean

con esta joya del artificio, como si pertenecieran

a una misma familia procreando el futuro,

generación, puedo casi afirmar,

de iluminados digitales que si hablaran,

sabríamos algo más de su sueño digital,

un mundo que quizás no es de este reino.

It Watches Me as Soon as I Sit

It watches me as soon as I sit
in front of the computer,
a gaze almost obscene,
probing, inquisitive, intimidating,
as intimate as it is predatory of the will.
I would say, rather, it monitors me, I say,
it has a dazzling resume
and has just begun to operate,
it is in the prime of its youth,
I flirt with it and call it Diva.
And from its surprising capabilities
we can expect any answer.
Around me, daring young people,
hallucinating, they devour the world
with their gaze and earthly abandonments,
acting as guardians seduced
by this omnipresent consciousness,
that seems to smile at us with its candor
from beyond our understanding.
Proud and dazzled, they converse,
addressing this jewel of artifice informally,
as if they belonged
to the same family procreating the future,
a generation, I can almost assert,
of digital illuminati who, if they spoke,
we would know more about their digital dream,
a world that perhaps is not of this realm.
