Ha muerto Diane Hall Keaton,

al menos es lo que reportan

los medios internacionales,

sin decir, dónde, cuándo  y cómo,

pero sucedió tristemente

y en todas las fotos vemos

su marcada, reconocible sonrisa

de ahora y siempre.

Sin embargo, disculpen un entre líneas,

su deceso puede ser una realidad,

la evidencia corporal que llaman

los forenses sin mostrar expresión alguna,

pero, me pregunto por quienes

nos quedamos extasiados con Annie Hall,

¿ se habrá enterado de esta noticia?

Diane Hall Keaton is gone.

Or so the international press reports—

no mention of where,

or when,

or how.

Only that it happened.

Sadly.

And in every photograph,

that unmistakable smile appears,

etched across time,

as if nothing had changed.

But forgive me for reading between the lines—

perhaps her death is real,

the kind the forensics confirm

without a flicker of feeling.

Still, I can't help but wonder:

for those of us

who once stood awestruck by Annie Hall,

has she heard the news.
