largo y algo
desconocido
por las personas
común
y corrientes que
habitan el lugar.
Con una calculada
indiferencia,
se hacen llamar
vecinos:
-alguien cercano,
próximo, inmediato-.
El diccionario es
literal,
no admite
interpretaciones,
desconoce
situaciones particulares,
se atiene a
significados generales
y deja correr a
las personas
con la
indiferencia del riachuelo
que lucha
obstinadamente
por sobrevivir a
los vecinos
que acuden a él
para botar
basura,
desperdicios,
sus propios
excesos, inmundicia,
con su
indiferencia acostumbrada.

This Little Forest
This little forest
that encircles the house
is crossed by a stream,
long and somewhat unknown
to the ordinary people
who live in this place.
With a measured indifference,
they call themselves neighbors—
someone near, adjacent, immediate.
The dictionary is literal,
admits no interpretations,
ignores particular circumstances,
clings to general meanings
and lets people pass by
with the indifference of the stream
that stubbornly struggles
to survive the neighbors
who come to it to dump
garbage, refuse,
their own excesses, filth,
with their habitual indifference.
