¿Adónde va la prisa, Fernando?

¿En cuál Pessoa viaja,?

¿A cuál de todos  busca

 y lleva bajo el brazo de la poesía,

 que en calles desprevenidas camina

 y desgrana  en las triviales horas  del día, 

al encuentro de una palabra

amiga y desconocida?

Autor, digo, de un eterno abecedario

que siguen traduciendo aún los días.

Where does haste go, Fernando?

In which Pessoa does it travel?

Which one of them does it seek,

and carry beneath the arm of poetry,

that walks unsuspecting streets

and scatters, through the trivial hours of day,

in search of a word—

friendly and unknown?

Author, I say, of an eternal alphabet

that the days are still translating.
