no llena un vaso,
ni hace más grande
el mar.
Un grano de arena
no transforma en desierto
al desierto.
Una palabra,
convertida en esa gota,
grano de arena,
puede iluminar
un poema,
si suma otras palabras.

nor make the sea
any greater.
A grain of sand
does not turn the desert
into a desert.
A word,
turned into that drop,
that grain of sand,
can light up
a poem,
if it gathers
other words.
